Approach

We are consultants. We measure the health of your space, set priorities against your goals, and work with your team to make the changes.

Evidence, graded honestly

For each recommendation we tell you how strong the evidence is. Some changes are well supported. Some are reasonable but unproven. Some popular ones aren’t worth the money, and we will say so.

Practical over perfect

Recommendations are ranked by likely benefit, cost and effort. Many of the most useful changes are cheap. You decide what to do and when.

The process

  1. Goals

A conversation about the people who use the space and what you want for them: better sleep, recovery, focus, comfort, or a healthier place for guests, residents or staff. We will tell you honestly whether an assessment is worthwhile.

  2. Measure or review

For existing spaces, an on-site assessment with calibrated instruments in the rooms that matter most. For spaces not yet built, a review of plans and specifications across light, air, thermal, water, acoustics, materials and sleep.

  3. Report

Findings and ranked recommendations in plain language, each with the strength of evidence, likely cost, and who should do the work. We walk you through it.

  4. Implement

We brief your builders, architects, designers and trades, review plans and specifications, and answer their questions as the work goes ahead.

  5. Re-measure

Once changes are made, we measure again so you can see what improved.

Working with your team

You can’t address what you haven’t measured.

We don’t replace your builder, architect or designer. We give them clear, measured targets and the reasoning behind them, so health is designed in rather than guessed at. Or we work with you directly, if you are managing the changes yourself.

We can work with the team you already have, or suggest people we trust.

What you receive

A report you can act on.

What we measured, what it means, and what to change, in order of priority. Each recommendation notes the strength of the evidence, the likely cost, and whether it is a job for you, a tradesperson or a designer.

We don’t sell products, and our advice is independent of any supplier.
